Campus Facilities at GIET University

Library – The Central Library at GIET University is a storehouse of multi-disciplinary books, resource materials, online resources, journals, magazines, and newspapers. It can house 1000 students at a time, and it has the Koha Open LMS-17.11.5 for library automation and DSpace-6.2 for Institution's repository for the student's benefit. It has over 80,000 books and subscriptions to national and international journals of repute. Apart from the main library, each department has its own departmental library for easier access to specific subject-related books. It is Wi-Fi enabled and has systems for browsing  NPTEL's online courses, syllabus, previous papers of various departments, and courses available in the facility since 2016. It has an online repository for students apart from books. 

Research Center – GIET is a very research and innovation-oriented University where research work and projects of faculty and students have been showcased and appreciated at national and international forums. These efforts in research have led to all kinds of scholarly activities like fundamental research, applied research, research work for the government, non-government and international agencies.         Laboratories – There are specific laboratories for each department equipped with all the necessary tools and facilities for a more practical approach to learning. There are Physics Laboratory, Chemistry Laboratory, English Language Laboratory, and laboratories for engineering classes. These laboratories enable the students to get a hands-on experience and be better acquainted with implementing the theoretical concepts into practical usage. 

Hostel Facilities at GIET University 

Residence – There are boarding facilities for both boys and girls at GIETU with a capacity to house 4000 students. Each hostel has a superintendent as well as matrons, welfare officers, and caretakers. The hostels are WiFi-enabled and have power back up for uninterrupted supply. Each hostel is well equipped with basic facilities and amenities, including round-the-clock security, dispensary, 24 hours ambulance and medical facilities, as well as water purifiers, and subscription to daily newspapers. The University has truly tried to give the students a very healthy and safe environment at the GIETU hostel. 

Mess – Each hostel has a kitchen as well as a dining area with a capacity for housing 15,000 students at a time. It is made sure that all food is healthy and hygienic with a customized menu that is changed according to the tastes of the students. 

Entertainment – The Extra-Curricular and Co-Curricular Committee is responsible for organizing multiple events for the students. The students can participate in cultural and sports activities that help them learn the values of team building, leadership, and sportsmanship. There are sports facilities like indoor and outdoor games where students can play numerous games and sports to keep active. 

Mega Auditorium – GIETU has a mega auditorium built with high-definition technology supported by 7.1 Dolby digital sounds, one of the state's best and most expensive auditoriums. Multiple national and international events have been held here. There are other 7 smaller auditoriums for all kinds of events. 

Other Facilities at GIET University 

Educational – The pedagogy and teaching methods in GIET University are ever-evolving and keep changing with time. The University is always working to increase its digital repository with AICTE tools and journals.         Environmental – It was placed in the first position for green building design from Indian Green Building Council (IGBC). It has a campus that is surrounded by greenery and the river Bansadhara flowing right through its area. GIET are taught and encouraged to be responsible about the environment and environment day every year. 

Recreational facilities – There is a football field, badminton court, Swimming pool, yoga centers, and a gymnasium for exercising and working out. GIET has tried its best to provide an all-around development for the students. GIET believes in giving the students an environment to make full use of their potential academics and beyond. The students can take part in all kinds of co-curricular activities facilitated by the University. 

Student Centre -- it has sporting and training facilities and is a space designed and built for the welfare of the students- a place for them to come together and interact. There is a gym, a yoga center, space for music practice – space for investing in your interests and hobbies.
